Flytipping Small Grant Scheme

The flytipping small grant scheme is being administered by Keep Scotland Beautiful on behalf of Zero Waste Scotland to support landowners/managers and community groups in Scotland who have experienced persistent problems of flytipping. The total grant fund is £75,000.

The proposed objectives are:

  • to facilitate the removal of flytipping at upwards of ten locations during the current financial year (2012-13); and
  • to prevent reoccurring flytipping at the same locations over the next financial year.

Applications must be submitted to Keep Scotland Beautiful by 5pm on Friday 31st August 2012.

By applying to take part in the Flytipping Small Grant Scheme, you and your organisation/group agree that:

  • Keep Scotland Beautiful can store your contact details and share them with Zero Waste Scotland and/or your local authority, if required, as well as the panel members. We may also disclose your information as part of any transfer of our business or if required to do so by law.
  • Any actions carried out as a result of the grant will be managed and promoted in a responsible manner, giving consideration to factors including the safety of staff and/or members of the public, supervision of activities and the proper disposal of waste.
  • The appropriate local authorities and landowners will be consulted and local laws and regulations respected.
  • Activities resulting from the grant are conducted in a spirit of cooperation with, where appropriate, community groups and organisations, and members of public.
  • A completed and signed Acceptance Return Sheet must be sent to KSB before a cheque for the agreed amount will be issued.
  • Copies of receipts and invoices must be sent to KSB along with a Project Completion Form. This form will request information including tonnage of waste collected and the number of volunteer hours spent on the project (as well as 'before' and 'after' photographs of the site). If less than the full amount of the grant is spent the applicant will be required to reimburse the balance.
  • Any photographs submitted to Keep Scotland Beautiful will be with the prior consent of participants (or their parents if under 16 years old) if they are included in the photograph. The photographer maintains copyright of any submitted photographs but it is a condition of participation in the grant scheme that Keep Scotland Beautiful and Zero Waste Scotland reserves the right to reproduce them without fee for exhibition, web or other publicity purposes.
  • Keep Scotland Beautiful and Zero Waste Scotland reserve the right to publish comments and feedback from organisers/participants in publicity materials.
  • Keep Scotland Beautiful and Zero Waste Scotland are not liable for any injury sustained by the group, organisation or participants; nor any loss or damage to property owned by, or in the possession of the group, organisation or participants; nor any act, omission, negligence or fault of any person organising or participating in the activity or activities undertaken.
